Review
Happy Madison Productions certainly does have something going here. Paul Blart: Mall Cop aims it’s fun at a more youthful, family oriented audience, and in most cases succeeds with only a moderate amount of eye rolling scenes. It overwhelms itself with constant slap-stick humor that often leads to cliche fat jokes, but occasionally offers subtle and intelligent innuendo in it’s place.
We have a typical set-up of an average guy with big dreams, who lusts after the drop dead gorgeous girl that seems way out of his league. Said girl shows interest and our bumbling fool makes a colossal disaster and turns her off, but he jumps in and tries to save the day to impress her and overcome his sub-par existence. This formulaic set-up has a predictable future and way of playing out, but it’s an acceptable swap for Kevin James’s incredibly charming and whole-hearted performance. He attacks the character with total commitment, and his kinetic energy makes it work most of the time.
There are moments when I laughed hysterically, and moments where I felt annoyed by it’s obvious jokes or cheese factor, but seeing it with my five year old son and husband let me appreciate it for what it was. This may not be something that finds it’s way on my DVD rack, but it had me LOL more than once, and was definitely worth it’s price of admission. Kevin James is an enigmatic guy and it comes threw in spades with his portrayal of Paul Blart. While I’m partial to his stand-up, I do enjoy his acting. Paul Blart: Mall Cop equaled a lot of superficial fun.

This movie was pretty fricken hillarious and as for pudha the gps stalker he cracked me up everytime he called paul, especially when he called him peanut blart and jelly…lol. Wasn’t the best movie ever, but it definetly had me laughing the whole time.
I think a different actor and it might have sucked. Kevin James rules though.
