    Jessa,

I love Edward Scissorhands, it just wasn’t as resounding with me as the other titles, but that’s why it was given an honorable mention. A lot of people may be mad Willy Wonka didn’t make it, but at least my mom won’t be plotting my death this week due to The Wizard Of Oz’s placement.

    George,

Yes, it is there and deservedly so. The rest of the films in the fantasy genre just wouldn’t exist without it, and it deserves that respect. Besides, I love it.

    Cello,

Well……as Mitch Hedberg said, “You just can’t please all the people all time”. Hahahahaha….. I really hadn’t remembered those oldies but goodies though and I never saw Mirrormask. I did give Dark Crystal an honorable mention. Good old movie, but I felt Labyrinth represented Jim Hensens work a bit stronger is all. :) What ones haven’t you seen?

    HI ME,

I know I have a twisted and sick obsession with Labyrinth, but I also realize a lot of it’s appeal is all about personal nostalgia for myself, and I’m not always entirely objective about it. As fully fleshed out cohesive films are concerned, I felt those lower on the list were more well put together movies over all.

I’m on a mission to make people love Legend. Too many haven’t seen it.

  7. Marc says:

Real glad to see some love for The Last Unicorn. Such a powerful animated film, very mature. The ‘zoo keeper’ is one of my favorite animated characters. Her stark acceptance that one day her captives will figure out a way to kill her was a heady concept for me as a 12ish year old seeing this.

Legend above Princess Bride? Inconceivable!!! Labyrinth above Princess Bride? That’s not fair!!

Heather, have you ever seen the animated Hobbit?

  8. Heather says:

    Marc,

That whole portion of the movie was the best part if you ask me.

Ha, you know I heart Legend and Labyrinth. At least The Princess Bride made it, I almost put a few on in place of it.

Yes, I have seen The Animated Hobbitt. My grandma used to take us to the library to rent movies and I picked it every time, but sadly I haven’t seen it since I was a kiddo.

This isn’t a bad list, but I hated Willow. I don’t understand why anyone thinks mocking midgets is funny. At least in Lord Of The Rings, tossing a dwarf requires some shame on the dwarfs part. They have some respect for themselves. In this, they are called Peck? Uncool, just uncool.

The hobbit is the greatest film ever made. If they make it into live action theyll screw it up. Let Quintin Taruntino direct it and it might be amazing, but Perter Jackson sux.
