What surprised me about "The Blind Side" is how much better it was than I expected. I was the definition of "pleasantly surprised." Hancock avoids a number of cliches you'd normally find in an Inspirational Movie (capitals are necessary) like this, and Sandra Bullock is great. Even her Southern accent's not bad (this coming from a bona-fide Carolina girl). I suspect she knew this role would earn her some nominations, but I don't fault her for that -- she's a talented actress, and it's high time she stopped wasting herself in crap like "Miss Congeniality." After this, I don't see how she can go back to that.
