If you have yet to see King of Kong by Seth Gordon you should check it out. His new movie has just gained Kevin Spacey as the final of three bosses that are so bad their days are numbered. The general plot line follows Jason Bateman, Charlie Day and Jason Sudiekis as three friends each with a horrible boss. Their lives are so bad that they each agree to help kill the others boss. This reminds me of a comedic turn to Hitchcock’s “Strangers On A Train”.
The two other bosses are played by Colin Farrell and Jennifer Aniston and Jamie Foxx stars as a scam artist. I am very excited about the possibilities of this darker version of Office Space with an A list cast. Spacey was great in Swimming With Sharks as another boss whose employee wanted to kill him plus he is a great actor. I think that this film has a definite potential for greatness. You will likely see the trailer when it becomes available.
What are your thoughts on this bit of casting news?
Yes, Swimming with Sharks he is certainly one of the worst screen bosses ever!!!
Is it me or does this sound, like, exactly like Swimming With Sharks? Wait — is there kidnapping involved with this one?

I was thinking there seemed to be quite a few parallels after Peter pointed that out!
Hmm the combination of Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, and dark comedy premise should definitely be enough to get me to see this one!

Yes to Farrel and to Spacey, I couldn’t care less about the others.

Jason Bateman is really enjoyable and has a definite niche in these type of roles. I don’t care for Jennifer Aniston.
Can’t we put her on a shelf and retire her? She’s falling into the world of Jennifer Lopez for me.

She doesn’t annoy me as much as Jamie Fox, though.

He just has ZERO range as an actor.
YES, Heather. People always think I’m hating but he’s the sort of person that should be on SNL only (no offense) he can do impressions, but he cannot act.

Agreed. I think he’s charming, but the only role I can say I saw him “sorta” act in was Collateral. And it was a huge stretch either. It was easy to ignore him and watch Cruises tour de force performance.
Charlie Day would be the reason I’d see this. It’s Always Sunny is the funniest show of the past decade (sorry AD fans).
It’s funny, but I’d have to include Scrubs with it. In fact I’m thinking I might throw some disc’s in and watch it right now.
Spacey is yet again letting me down!

I can’t wait to see this! Spacey is an amazing actor and I’m sure he will live up to expectations. I just can’t wait for Charlie Day to finally break out on the big screen.
