Review: The Five Year Engagement (2012)
Posted On 27 Apr 2012 By Bartleby. Under 1.5 Stars (Insignificant), By Genre, By Star Rating, Comedy, Reviews, Romance, Romantic Comedy.
Mobsters Rating: If the job was to simulate the real feelings of impatience and frustration that come along with hesitant couples dancing around marital consecration, then The Five Year Engagement succeeds. If the Judd Apatow-produced comedy was trying for anything else—like a relatable, quick-witted romp with likable characters and a sweet ... Read More

Movie Review: The Artist (2011)
Posted On 23 Dec 2011 By Bartleby. Under 2011, 4 Stars (Phenomenal), Action, Classic, Comedy, Drama, Foreign, Reviews, Romance, Romantic Comedy.
Mobster's Rating: There’s much talk about “The Artist” being a silent, black and white film that happens to have been made in 2011. This is technically true, but to describe it as such is to suggest that it’s an artifact or an antique. It isn’t. Although it borrows the exact ... Read More

Review: Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn- Part 1 (2011)
Posted On 18 Nov 2011 By Bartleby. Under 2 Stars (Mediocre), 2011, Action, Fantasy, Reviews, Romance.
Breaking Dawn begins the much anticipated/dreaded final chapter of the Twilight Saga. Ed and Bella get married, knock boots, and start the natural first step for any teen/ancient creepy thing relationship: have a baby! There's more sulking, more wolves and 100% more umbilical chewing than the previous installments.

Review: Another Earth (2011)
Posted On 12 Sep 2011 By Bartleby. Under 2011, 3 Stars (Fantastic), By Genre, Fantasy, Reviews, Romance, Science Fiction.
Mike Cahill's Another Earth proposes what would happen if we were confronted with another world, another life, another version of ourselves. A smart science fiction drama with equally smart characters.

Review: Water for Elephants (2011)
Posted On 22 Apr 2011 By Bartleby. Under 2 Stars (Mediocre), 2011, By Genre, Drama, Reviews, Romance.
A glossy polished adaptation of the popular romantic epic about a guy, a girl and the whole darn circus. Unfortunately, a truncated script and lack of chemistry between the leads knock it off the high wire.

Review: Red Riding Hood (2011)
Posted On 11 Mar 2011 By Bartleby. Under 1 Star (Awful), Action-Adventure, Fantasy, Horror, Romance.
Woof, woof! Red Riding Hood wants to be Twilight but it's more like Twi-lite. There's no wolf here, just a mangy dog of a movie.

Review: The Adjustment Bureau (2011)

Emily Blunt and Matt Damon fight fate and destiny in George Nolfi's The Adjustment Bureau. Hollywood has a less than stellar track record with adapting Philip K. Dick to the screen. Is this another 'Blade Runner' or an 'Imposter'?

Tangled is funny and cute...then the singing starts and it becomes unbearable...then it stops and it goes back to being funny and cute.

Throwback Tuesday: Sleepy Hollow (1999)

With a classic tale, and Tim Burton's masterful way of creating palpable and ingenious characters with brilliant casting, makes this one of my favorite films of his, and certainly one of my favorite to get in the mood for Halloween with.
