Balrog Of Moria

A Balrog is a fictional demonic creature from J. R. R. Tolkien’s Middle-earth fantasy writings and appears in The Fellowship Of The Ring.   For millennium’s the Balrog took Sanctuary in the Misty Mountains until it was roused in the depths of the mountains in Khazad-dûm by mining dwarfs.  They are enormous and feroucious demons with almost humanesque characteristics covered in shadows, fire, and darkness.  In the Fellowship the Balrog is roused again and faces Gandalf as only he is strong enough to compete against such a foe as they are each beings of the order of Maier.  Sacrificing himself the Balrog and Gandalf face off in a battle of magics and though it’s presence in the film is brief, it’s formidable and majestically terrifying addition to the film is unforgettable.
