The presentations for Best Actor was WONDERFUL for this category. I loved the heartfelt manner in which they were shown love from their fellow actors.
Jeff Bridges is the best actor and is so deserving of this win for Crazy Heart. Crazy Heart was truly the performance of a lifetime and I am very happy that he won. Jeff Bridges lights up the screen and not only is a great actor but makes those around him great. The nominees this year are the best of the best in my mind and this category would have been very difficult indeed. I think that I would have been happy if any of the actors would have won.
The Best Actress category was another hard choice this year, or at least I would think so for the Academy. I think Gabourey would have been a great choice for this award but I had a feeling that Sandra Bullock would win for The Blind Side. I am very happy that she won. Her acceptance speech was great and heartfelt.
Can’t say I’m happy that Sandra Bullock won, but I am happy for Jeff Bridges.
I’m a little torn about the Best Actress category because I’m sick of Meryl Streep getting nominated just because she shows up on a movie set and because I didn’t see “The Last Station” or “An Education.” Against Sandra Bullock I’d root for Gabourey. But this year, honestly? Wasn’t feeling this category.
Best Actor, on the other hand, I was all over. Loved George Clooney in “Up in the Air,” loved Jeremy Renner in “Hurt Locker” and loved, loved, LOVED Jeff Bridges the only so-so “Crazy Heart.” I’m a little sad I didn’t see “The Messenger” or “A Single Man,” since I like both Harrelson and Firth very much.
I agree with you M.Carter. The best actress category was a sleep zone this Oscar. In fact, it was all too predictable……..and I”m still pissed Tarantino was forgotten all together.
