Date Of Birth:
July 23, 1967 in Fairport, New York
Unknown Facts:
*When asked who his acting idols were, he named Daniel Day-Lewis, Paul Newman, Meryl Streep and Christopher Walken.
*Does not drink alcohol. He became sober when he was 22 years old and says that he quit because, “I was 22 and I was panicked for my life.”
*Appears in The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999) and Red Dragon (2002). Both are remakes of earlier films (Plein soleil (1960) and Manhunter (1986)), and both feature him as a character named Freddie who is killed by the villain/title character.
Stay tuned for plenty of reviews this month from films staring or containing Philip Seymour Hoffman. He was recently awarded the infamous “Oscar” for his role in Capote. I haven’t seen it, but his prolific list of work has proven him to be one of the best actors working today. Even when Hoffman shows up for a small role or cameo he tends to steal the show.

Accidental play on words?
“He was recently awarded the _infamous_ “Oscar” for his role in Capote.”
The “other” Capote film from 2006 is named Infamous.
Hahahahaha. I had no idea. Absolutely an accident. Thanks for pointing that out Oskar!
