Queued Up: Netflix New Releases

I am finally excited again about what came out this week on DVD and Blu Ray so here are some films I would recommend renting.

The Killer:

I know, I know this is not a new movie and its not the first time it has been released but I am tickled pink to see that it has finally been released in Blu Ray.  I am excited to see the acrobatic fight scenes on my tv.  This is likely one I will actually buy.  If you have not seen The Killer you MUST, it is one of Chow Yun Fat’s best films.

An Education:

I have this from Redbox and have been meaning to watch it.  I am very excited to see Carey Mulligan’s performance.  I am looking forward to seeing her in Wall Street 2!

Where The Wild Things Are:

This was a decent film and I think it is going to be a classic on DVD as well.  Spike Jonze shot is so beautifully I would love to see it on Blu Ray.

Red Cliff: Theatrical Version:

This movie looks so visually stunning from the previews that I am dying to see it on Blu Ray.  I am definitely adding this to the top of my que.  I wish it had had a wider theatrical release.  John Woo is truly a great director and its a shame he has not had larger success in the US.

    Where the Wild Things Are is a good choice. I recently picked it up on Blu-Ray and it still holds up with multiple viewings.
