MTV has confirmed that Brad Pitt will be starring in the film adaptation of World War Z. The book by Max Brooks was part of a bidding war between Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio’s production companies. Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment has secured the rights to World War Z and two other novels by Max Brooks. Marc Forster is set to direct with Pitt in the lead in this zombie apocalypse film which is slated for a 2012 release.
I am a huge lover of zombie films and I actually have a copy of World War Z which I have not read yet. Now I have a reason to crack open the book. Are you as excited as I am about this news? Have you read the book? If so, what are your thoughts?

Not a fan of Zombies, but I am a fan of Brad Pitt, so I’m interested.
Maybe he’ll just be Aldo Raine again, but fighting Zombies. That would be an awesome movie.

Zombie movies are my favorite type of horror film. The apocalyptic sense of dread, the gore and the hordes of walking dead make zombie films intense. These films are just like pizza for me. When they’re bad they’re still good.

What’s up with A-Listers and zombies? From Natalie Portman’s Pride & Prejudice and Zombies – then this…I’m really interested in seeing Brad explore this territory though.
Brad can do anything. That’s how I feel, and people will pay to see him do it. Zombies involved? More intrigue via public I reckon.
Like his woman I’ll see him in anything too. It sucks that he’s still not given enough credit for his ACTING.

They could cast Brad Pitt in a toothpaste ad and I’d pay to see it. He is one of the best actors of the past two decades. Give him a role like this and he’ll shine. Doing the Ocean’s movies maybe have made people forget about 12 Monkeys and Kalifornia. This guy is insanely talented. Make him fight zombies! Hell yes!
